Site Location: Cannington

Contract: Temporary ongoing

Shift: 12hr, 4on 4off, 6am-6pm

Basic Pay Rate: £13.36 per hour

Due to continual business growth, gap personnel are currently seeking new team members to join the diverse, friendly, and passionate team at Yeo Valley. Based at their stunning site in Cannington, we have several Quality Assurance Assistant positions available with immediate starts.

As a Quality Assurance Assistant, you will work as an important part of a team supporting the supply chain by ensuring the quality of products throughout the intake, storage, picking, packing, control, and dispatch processes.

As a Quality Assurance Assistant, your role will include:

• Provide proactive quality assurance by monitoring real-time product quality and technical procedures to identify opportunities for site improvements.
• Have a deep understanding of the end-to-end process on-site, verifying process stability and performance measures.
• Support site investigations by understanding processes, monitoring points, and controls, and interpreting results to take corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Complete all required sampling and testing accurately, safely, and diligently, and ensure all tasks are critiqued for potential improvements.

·         Support the internal audit process to drive continuous improvement and capture trial results to facilitate the development of technical product specifications.

• Capture, record, and identify monitoring points in the process, highlighting areas out of tolerance and resolving or escalating as appropriate.
• Confidently communicate technical information to relevant stakeholders.
• Manage external laboratory systems, including logging of samples, sample collection, booking, and reviewing results.
• Critique processes and suggest improvements to enhance quality and operational efficiency.

·         Ensure all actions and processes meet quality management system (QMS) requirements and food safety standards.

What are we looking for, from you?

A proactive team player with excellent attention to detail; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Effective communication abilities, both technical and non-technical; Experience in the food industry with a solid understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles; Competence in process monitoring, verification, and ensuring compliance with legal and quality standards.

Previous experience working in a similar role is desired, whilst certificates in Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health & Safety in the workplace, certified MHE experience are desirable but not essential.
