Warehouse Operative

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a warehouse operative to join their busy goods in department. 

 

Role: Warehouse Operative - Goods In

Hours: Mon - Fri 08.00-17.00

Pay: £11.44 (rate increase in line with NMW in April £12.21)

Location: Wckford SS11

Type: Temp to perm 12 weeks for the right candidate

 

Candidates should have prior warehouse experience, be able to lift heavy materials daily, and demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and trustworthiness. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where communication and adaptability are key.

 

Duties:

• Reading picking lists and following instructions
• Locating, picking, and packing stock with attention to detail
• Palletizing and labelling packages for dispatch
• Moving pallets and orders between departments/buildings using pump trucks
• Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse (including sweeping and clearing areas)
• Ensuring health and safety standards are met
• Communicating and collaborating with other departments
• Providing holiday cover for goods in/stock control departments
• Performing other ad-hoc tasks as needed

 

Skills & Experience:

• Counterbalance Truck License is a plus but not required
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Reliable with good timekeeping
• Knowledge of health and safety and warehouse procedures
• Previous experience as a picker/packer is essential
• Experience lifting heavy materials is essential
